May 7, 2011

She goes by many names, Dee, Deanna, Dee-monkey, Dee-Bear, first little d, company d, other little d.  Diamond call's her "De-adda", which is also what she calls bananas...hopefully that's just coincidence and she doesn't actually relate the two of them.

She is the most active member of our youth group.  She is beautiful and doesn't believe it.  She has the prettiest skin color.  She is quiet and shy.  She is stubborn and strong headed.  She is determined.  She is a fine christian example to the younger youth.  She is a senior in high school.  She is a Harry Potter fan.  She just finished the whole series for like the 50th time.  She is a little sister, to Victoria.

She is enlisted in the Navy.  She has painted black finger nails.  She has the voice of a Disney princess (but I would NEVER tell her that in person).  She is a volunteer at our local wild life center.  She is passionate about life.  She hates the color pink and hasn't worn it since she was twelve.  She has faithful christian parents and grand parents.

May 7, 2011.
She went on her senior canoeing trip.  She started her day like everyone else.  She spoke to her mother while on the trip and her mother reminded her to do the little things, like reapply sunblock so her fair, already pink complexion wouldn't burn.

She hit something and flipped over in her canoe.  She got stuck under water, between a canoe that had already sank and a fallen tree.  She was stuck in a vacum.  She was under water for over six minutes.  She medically drowned.  She had a possible cardiac arrest.  She was air lifted to the local hospital and "stabilized".  She was transported to a bigger hospital in Little Rock.

Today.
She is laying in a hospital bed in critical condition.  She is on a respirator because her lungs aren't strong enough sustain her life by themselves. She has a tear on the posterior part of her trachea.  She is on more than eight different I.V. medications.  She is chemically paralyzed and sedated.  She has a tube stuck in her chest to drain fluid and air. She has an additional tube in her lungs to suck out all of the river gunk she inhaled while under water. She, now has blood pressure problems.  She has a fever and they don't know why.  She is swollen and almost unrecognizable.

Deanna is struggling to survive! Our precious little Deanna needs our constant prayers!  Please pray!  Pray and pass this story along!  Please!  She is one of us!  She belongs to our "family".
Think of her as one of  "yours" and pray!

  7. What a beautiful young woman, and and how strong in her faith, this young mother, knowing that where there are 2 or more gathered in His name there will He be also. She is open to share her pain so that other's faith can be renewed.Deanna's name will be before me everday, and I will lift her name to our Heavenly Father.

  12. I have contacted the prayer chain of two churches and we are not only praying for supernatural healing but we are praying for life to be restored to this young lady in the mighty name of Jesus..We pray that she will awake as if she has just been taking a nap and there will be no problems, Jesus you made her body and you have a perfect play for her we just pray for every bone to be aligned and every organ to function and though nothing had ever happened, and her faith and testimony for you be stronger yet humble, I know I have never met her but she is one of yours father and she not only believes in you but has given her life to you, our prayer more than praying life back into her is praying that your perfect will be done, In the Mighty name of Jesus and for her family we pray comfort and peace that you are in control and all the prayers for thier precious gift will be answered in your time..We lift all of these things up to you and ask that it be done in the name of Jesus..Amen this prayer is not only from my wife and I but from two churches that we have contacted tonight and we will be contacting more in the coming hours..God Bless Ron and Carlene Rye - Vessels For Christ Music Ministry

  15. Me ,Barabra and the boysare so terribly sorry to hear this. She is truely a wonerful person who we have had the wonderful chance to meet and worship with her and her loving mother, father, and sister. She and her sister are both trust worthy young ladies to the point we have trusted them to the care of our own children in the past, to which her patience and care was always was enjoyed by our younger sons. Deeana is on the prayer list at Lorrance Drive CHurch of Christ and I am praying for her and her family continually.

  17. JOhn 10:10 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

Psalms 34:6 In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened;he saved me from all my troubles.

Psalms 91:14 The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me.
I will protect those who trust in my name.
    15 When they call on me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
16 I will reward them with a long life
    and give them my salvation.”

  19. My group was on the river that day and came upon the scene as they pulled her out of the water. We prayed for her the whole time and believe that God placed us there specifically at that time to pray for her life. God did not spare her to let her die now. We will continue to keep Deanna in our prayers and we fully expect a miraculous recovery.

  26. What a beautiful young woman with so much potential. I am adding Deanna and her family to 3 online prayer chains. Also requesting prayers from different churches and individuals alike.

I have always heard that things happen for a reason. I am not sure what the reasoning here would be...maybe a way of witnessing to people when she has made a complete recovery (praying hard for this) to show others that God works miracles everyday; and nothing is impossible when we believe in Him.

Deanna is young and strong and a Christian; all of this works in her favor for a full and complete recovery.

Lord please place your healing hand on Deanna! Wrap her loving family in Your arms and give them comfort and peace. In Jesus name I pray...Amen!
