Just life

Life is still going steady over our way.

Like usual, we've attented a soccer game or two...

and a soccer practice or two...

 Practice is obviously exhausting!

Steven had his first theatrical debut this week.  He did an awesome job!
Don't worry, he killed the crazy psychopath! (:

Ahem...Moving on...

We've had a few bumps in the road this week.

Little d has been constipated basically since she was born.  A couple of weeks ago she developed a nasty ole hemmorriod to go along with the constipation so her doctor decided it was time to see a specialist.  I am anxious to see what they have to say about her and her issue.  She drinks plenty of water, has basically no dairy, and eats lots of fiber filled foods.  She really has no reason at all to be like this.  The problem is continually getting worse.  So I'm excited about the appointment.  And that, my dear, is something I didn't think I'd ever get excited over!

I had to have a grown up ish talk with Big D earlier in the week.  It sucked.  We both hated it.  It took forever and she had a lot of questions.  {Why aren't they learning this junk from their peers?!}  I asked her what she knew about a period and she was all like "You mean like, punctuation?"  Yeah, so that sucked.

Parent teacher conferences were this week.  We were all nervous/cautious/optimistic about what Middle d's teacher would have to say about him.  Last year sucked, he hated his teacher, were pretty sure his teacher hated him...he fell way behind in class, and on and on and on...

We were relieved when Mrs. M told us told us that he was "very well behaved" and "always used his manners" and that "he was such a smart boy"...We knew he was all along, our confidence was just a little shaken from last year.  It feels good to be academically proud of our boy, again.  By the way, he has 50 AR points and all A's on his report card {even his behavior grade}!  Go Middle D!!!

Big D's doing pretty spiffy herself.  But that was to be expected.  She made all A's, too!

O.K. well, I've got some last minute Halloween related stuff to finish up [cuz It's 11:47 p.m. and that just so happens to be how I roll}, so I'm signing out!

Happy Mon...Er...Halloween, Everyone!!!

Wordless{ish} Wednesday: Stripy Sockies

Little d was kind-of-sort-of hatin' {like wishing she had some}on her pal E's shin shocks at her last practice...

but she wasn't the only one having trouble concentrating because of the awesomeness...

So, I feel a little better...a little.

I guess I'm gonna have to get her some "strwipy shin sockies", too!

Happy Wednesday, Everyone!

UP

Big D had a social studies test to study for.  She brought her book home and started to read out loud.  I listened to her read and I could tell that she just wasn't feeling it.  I had been in the house for what seemed like forever so we took a little walk up a mountain and studied on the top.

Along the way, we decided that we were in an episode of LOST.  Our plane crashed and their were no other survivors. We had no idea where we were and we were determined to find out.  Middle D carried the "torch" and little d carried the "fire"  {IDK?}.

We walked and walked for a long period of time and took many, many breaks along the way.  At one point we stopped at what little d declared was "New York City"!  I totally agreed with her....

I'm sure New York City looked like this like five or six hundred years ago.  ( :

After we all agreed with little d that it was indeed New York City, we decided to climb to the top of the "Empire State Building" for some quiet study time.  We all sat in a circle and listened to Big D read about the Appalachian Mountains {my home}.  After she read, I gave everyone a little pop quiz and they all did very well!  little d even mentioned that Uncle Joey had a "mable querey at his house"  {She loves her Uncle Joey!}

Little d led the way, all the way, very slowly back to the car.  ( :

It was so nice to have such an adventurous, peaceful, and believe it or not, quiet time with my D's.

Life is GOOD.  God is GOOD!

Happy Friday, Everyone!...and Praise the Lord!

Story time

Once upon a time, in a far away land, there lived a little family.  That little family consisted of a Daddy, Mommy, and three little D's.  The little Mommy was proud of the milestones that her little D's made and so she filled each of their baby books up with stuff only a mother would care to know.  One day as the little Mommy was writing the latest milestone in the littlest of the D's, it occurred to her that she would soon run out of space and she might forget the  teeny tiny little things and phrases that her little D's would do/say, so she started a blog.

She started a blog to remind herself of things like the conversations that three year old little d would have while sitting among her team mates on the side lines.

Is it half time yet?  What's in that big lunch box?  I wish it was half time so we could open the big lunch box and eat!...Are you going to play today?  Why you just going to sit there?  I just wanna sit here, too...

...To remind herself of the Friday night football games that keep Middle D's dream of drumming in the marching band while wearing a football jersey, very much alive...

...To remind herself of the age that the eye rolling and little hints of attitude started surfacing with Big D...

... To remind herself of the bajillion soccer games she would sit, watch, and proudly cheer for her three very active D's...

M:  What kind of kick was that?!  BD:  I have no idea?!!

...To remember Big D's first game of scrabble and how she rocked it.  {even though Grandma totally whipped us!}

...To remember how Grandma and Papa drive thirteen hours just to spend a weekend with us.  And how Grandma is "the bestest bookreader ever!" ~ld

...And to remember each and every trip to story time at the library and also her first little friend that she just so happens to be friggin' crazy about. ( :

She started this blog to remember ALL of it.  But it seems that lately, she barely has time to live, let along take a minute to write it all down.

When did life get so busy?!

Anyway, she is currently locked in the tall, tall, tower of "Busy" and will probably be stuck there until Prince "Soccer season is over" rides up on his stallion and rescues her. It's sad that her blog is being so neglected but it's not because her life sucks...It's because she's living her happily ever after! ( :

Happy Tuesday, Everyone!

Wordless{ish} Wednesday: Harold and the purple crayon

For those of you who don't know who Harold is, he is a little boy that has a magic purple crayon that he takes to bed with him. When he can't sleep {apparently that's never} he draws a wild or mild adventure that he's thinking of and goes on it....

Ld fell asleep "reading" this...

 .....

.......I wonder where they're at and what they're doing. ( :

Happy Wednesday, Everyone!!!
