md: Mommy, Can I watch both teams run through the thingy?
me: Sure md. I don't see why not.
md: What does "I don't see why not" mean?
me: It means you can. Their isn't any reason why you cant.
md: Mommy, did the game start yet?
me: Yes, md that's what the siren was for.
md: Mommy, whats the score?
me: MD, the game just started. Right now it's 0-0.
md: Mommy, can I have a drink of your drink?
me: Sure.
md: Can I have your drink?
md: No, You can have I a drink.
md: Mommy did we get a touch down?
me: No md, we did not.
md: The buzzer went off.
me: That was a first down, not a touch down.
md: Mommy, Why does Devan get to be a cheerleader?
md: Because she wanted to be a cheerleader?
md: Can I play football?
me: Md, we already talked about this. You have to be in third grade before you can play football.
Mind you, this was in the first three to five minutes during the game.
md: Mommy?
me: Dom, trade places with daddy (he was between the two of us)
md: Why?
me: So that I can talk to him
...just a few minutes later...
md: Mommy? Can I sit in your lap?
me: Why md?
md: I can't talk to you way over there.
...
Does it make me a bad parent because I said NO?!?
Happy Wednesday everyone :)

Such a busy week!
It's been a while since I've blogged. Well over a week! Why? Live has been alot busier than normal. Soccer practice is now in affect. So that officially cram packs our weekly schedule.
It goes something like this:
Monday: School for Devan and Dominick from 8-3, It takes an hour to pick both of them up! We usually get home at around 4:15. We do homework and reading for an hour. Soccer practice is 5:30 - 6:30. We get home around 7:00. From 7-8:30 we manage to cram in dinner, baths and daily devotionals.
Tuesday: Same routine minus soccer practice plus cheer practice from 6-7:30 p.m. Steven also has his weekly devotional with the teens that usually lasts about two and a half hours...It's busier than it looks!
Wednesday: No practice. But we have our feed the lambs program. We are lacking volunteers for this so I am left helping three - four weeks out of the month. We usually get to the church building around 4:30. The lambs eat around 6. We have worship at 7. It is over at 8. Were usually "stuck" there until at least 8:30 because people have questions and Steven has answers : ) We are never in bed by 8:30 on Wednesday! We usually get the kiddos settled around 10:30! This is something that we are working on : /
Thursday runs a little smoother. Steven is "off". Big D still has an hour and a half of cheer practice.
Friday is about the same as Thursday but a little better. The older D's still have soccer practice but we don't stress it because we don't have to worry about an 8:30 bedtime.
Saturday, on the other hand is not looking so well. If our schedules are anything like last Saturday then where in for it! We had a 9 a.m. soccer game, an 11 a.m. soccer game, Steven had a project with the youth going on at 4 p.m. and Big D had a game at 5:30. By the time the game was over at around 7 I was officially exhausted!
Sunday? I really don't wanna talk about Sunday. To me, It's the busiest most stressful day of the week. I know it shouldn't be, but it is. Sundays are always the longest days.
The good news is that football season will be over in about a month and our schedule will open up a bit and allow us a little bit of breathing room : )
Now, onto the fun part. I wish the world would've seen my middle d out on the soccer field Saturday morning! I was so worried that he would struggle and just get trampled to death because all of those kids are seriously a foot or two taller than him. We moved him up because Big D had to move up and we are a bit selfish and didn't want to juggle four different practices and four different games. He was literally a rock star and he rocked that field! He took advantage of being little and squeezed in between and around and under all of those big kiddos. I seriously think he's gonna go pro : ) He needs to make his kick a little stronger and he's in there! Big D also did great but I expected her too ; ) They lost both of their games but they learned and I'm sure that they will conquer the field the next time!
Happy week everyone!

It's bitter...not sweet...
There is something about sweet summer time that I love. Well, let me rephrase that.
*clears throat* There isn't anything about sweet summer time that I hate! The hotter it is, the better I feel. The hotter it is, the happier I am! I'm having a hard time facing the end this year. It has been such a marvelous, fun-filled, adventurous summer that I can't think about it ending without having a mental melt down. Well, maybe a physical meltdown when no one is looking...
Don't get me wrong, Fall is beautiful. But then everything is cold and dead...like bodies hanging out in the morgue : /
And lets not forget how expensive it is! Our electricity bill is down by $250.00! The crazy thing is that we don't even use electric to heat our house in the winter! That point brings me to the gas bill! We spent nearly $1,200.00 on gas alone last winter....uggh! Depressing!
..........We wanna go swimming....again.......and again.....and again.....We don't wanna wait another nine months!
.......This post will have to be continued....I'm gonna go and have a meltdown about with some kiddos that feel the same way I do....
Happy lets pitch a fit cuz summerz ending Tuesday everyone : )

bye-bye crib
Steven and I finally decided that it was time to move little d to a big girl bed. We have been extremely lucky and in all of her two and a half years, she has never climbed out of her crib. She really isn't a climber at all come to think of it...
Anyway, we decided that we very well may be pushing our luck if we try and leave her in her crib until her third birthday (original move out date). Someone gave us a set of bunk beds a long time ago. So in the process of switching bedrooms (disastrous mess!) we took Big D's bed down and retired it along with the crib.
I was really unsure about little d and all of this change in one day. She doesn't like change. But she was happy to wave bye-bye to her crib and say hello to the big girl bed with her big sis : ) The first night she slept until about 5:00 am. She woke up panicky and screaming but after a sip of water and a quick trip to the potty she was ready to crawl back into bed and drift back into a sleepy somber : ) The second night she happily crawled into bed at bedtime and slept the whole night through! I'm excited!
Oh yeah! More great news! We haven't bought diapers in over two weeks!
Houston, I think we have a big girl : )
