Were busy living

Today we found out that our hard ware/ whatever you wanna call it store has baby ducks and chickens. Little d found the ducks and chickens quite fascinating.

But, obviously the rest of the store was quite...boring :) Yes, little d is fast asleep.

Later, little d declared that she was no longer a "dagon" but instead a "shicken"! She makes more sence as a "shicken" seeing as we call her our little bird anyway.

We also had our next to last soccer game tonight, which we won!!! I love, love, love it! Oh yeah, both of the d's scored a goal. So, double yay!!!

And to top it off, a little grocery shopping alone with all of the d's completed our day. I actually don't mind shopping with them. There excellent helpers and great entertainment.

That's pretty much it. Were living over here in our world. It's good stuff. Real good stuff!

I heart birthday parties!

We went to a special birthday party today. It was one of those "thank God! We've survived that first year" parties...or you can just call it a "first birthday" if you like to keep it simple :)

It was a fabulous monkey themed party! This momma can plan one heck of a party! Today I learned that you can hot glue ribbon on basically any thing and make it beautiful! Did I mention that little man's name is David and that he is my favorite one year old little boy ever?!? Did ya notice the letter that his name started with? I could just take him home and he would fit right in! And, I would take him home!...If his parents would let me!

I guess I'm a little oblivious to the world of birthday parties. I was raised as a Jehovahs witness. We did not celebrate birthdays for the fear of being "too worldly". Occasionally, my grandmother went against my parents wishes and threw my brother and I a birthday party, but never a "grand" party such as this one! I try my best to throw my d's grand and memorable parties. I don't see how celebrating ones birthday could be classified as worldly. I see it as another wonderful milestone. But thats my opinion...and we all know what they say about those :/

Sorry, that was way off path! We had a super time at the party. With only one minor accident. Lets just say that Big D is 7, and seven year olds are a little...strange.

Middle d's "program"

I've heard about it for weeks. I've listened to him recite his "speaking lines". I've watched him as he anxiously prepared for "his part". I've never seen a 6 year old so nervous about picking out his perfect "dressy outfit". He went through 3 different shirt and tie combos to find the "right one". He wanted to look his best...and he did.

I knew this was gonna be a big deal as soon as he started worrying about his outfit. He doesn't normally ever care what he wears. He was also very adamit about what "what time it was". From the time we picked him up from school until 6:30 all he could talk about was the "program" and not "being late". He must've asked me what time it was a thousand times.

When he got home from school, he was on his "very best behavior". He did all of his chores with out being asked. He did his reading so carefully and perfect. He made sure his fingernails were "dirt free" before he got out of the bath. (we usually have a problem with dirty fingernails and he has to get back in the tub till there clean...I have a few issues. I'm working on them). The whole 6 minute drive it takes to get to school, this normally too chatty little boy was silent. Off in the world of "programs".

We arrived promptly at 6:45, right on time. I walked my little man to his kindergarten class room where he joined his classmates. He went straight to his chair and sat down, hands folded together. And I watched him for a minute...And that's when my heart got all warm and fuzzy and the tears started coming. My six year old little boy was soon to "graduate" from kindergarten into the world of grades with actual numbers. And although I am proud of him...I am sad. Where did the time go? Where is my baby boy? Who is this kid?

His "program" was beautiful. He did fabulous. He spoke loud and clear. He was right on time with all of their hand and foot motions. He sang loud with the rest of his class. But the best part was that he looked at me and smiled at me the whole program. And I smiled back and tears fell down my face the whole time. It was beautiful. He was beautiful.

When it was over and I went to his classroom to pick him up. He said "Mommy I know why you were crying." I said "you do?" And he said "Yep, it's because I maked you proud. Didn't I?"...and then more tears followed. He does make me proud. Especially on occasions like that!

thoughts on dragons and such

Just in case you watched the movie...How to train your dragon...

and you didn't get enough information on training your dragons. Or if you didn't get a chance to see the movie,

and you happen to have a dragon

or three

hanging out around or inside your house,

I could probably give you a few extra pointers...You know, just in case ;)

confessions

There are quite a few reasons I started a blog. One, my friend made it look like so much fun. Two, I thought it would be sort of therapeutic for the Grandparents...and my self. Three, I needed more room to explain some of the pictures I take.

But the biggest reason I started a blog was because I simply ran out of room in their baby books. Those things are crammed slap full of firsts, silly little accomplishments, hospital garb, shot records, hand prints...and such. I started this blog because I didn't want to forget. I wanted to remember little mile stones that my d's have reached and surpassed. I wanted to remember my insane conversations with middle d. I wanted to remember little d's short and simple sentences...I didn't want to forget.

I haven't blogged much in the past couple of weeks honestly because I was afraid that my life wouldn't be interesting enough for people to want to read. Shady, I know, but that's the truth. I would log in to my blogger account, read other posts, comment on them and log out.

I forgot my inspiration for blogging. I forgot the reason I started my blog. This blog isn't here to entertain others. This blog is for ME! Don't get me wrong, I love sharing my d's with the world! But that is not why I did this. I think it's amazing that others read this. Comments tickle me pink. But, back to reality...from now on, my posts may not be interesting or funny. Most of them will probably be like they have been lately. Short. And. Simple. But after all, this is so I wont forget. That's what it's all about. Right?

Yes. I know. Ramble, ramble, ramble...and in my own defense, just in case I need a defense. It is 1:30 in the morning. I have a migraine. I have taken lots of zomig, benadryl, and even a 'scrip pain pill. Yep, I'm pretty sure I'm having a medication induced...what is that word I'm searching for???...Oh, I don't know...

On that note *laughing at myself* here is my favorite picture from Easter Sunday!

And this one comes in second. Only because of middle d's expression. His thoughts are written all over his face. "Why are we still taking pictures of this crying thing?" "Why aren't we eating lunch?" "Why should I smile? I'm not happy?" "Why can't I just take a picture by myself?" "When can we leave?"...It's there! Every. Single. Bit of it!

And last but certianly not least. My first born baby girl. She makes my heart all warm inside. Her love for me is truly unconditional. She tries her very best to make me happy, and she does an awsome job. She's the best big sister a little sister could ask for. And she has the most...patient soul. She leaves my mind almost completely blank when I try to describe her. The only word that comes to mind is Love. Because that's what she does. That's what she's full of.
